Seminar:
Ø To create awareness at grass root level regarding preventive measures
from dengue virus
Ø To provide education session to Community groups/ NGOs and students
through presentations, awareness lectures and distribution of informative literature

project, Toba Tek Singh in collaboration with Manager, District Industrial
Home, (Sanatzar) Toba Tek Singhthe organized a seminar on Eradication of Dengue
Mosquito and its Larva, Awareness Campaign. The seminar, held at, Hall
(Sanatzar ) dated on February
03-03-2012 (9.00: A.M to 11 .00 P.M) aimed at spreading
awareness about dengue fever among members of NGOs and Students of institution.

Session started at 9.00 A.M with the reciting of the Holy
Quran. Participants were delivered keynote lectures and stressed the
need for adopting preventive measures in order to eradicate dengue carrier
mosquito. Chief Guest Dr. Abid Hussain presented presentation on the history of the
Dengue Mosquito in Pakistan .
He also told the participants the common
breeding sites of the mosquito and how to eliminate these sites in effective
way. Speaker Rai Abdul Shakoor,
Deputy District Officer, Social Welfare, Community Development Project, Toba
Tek Singh described the life cycle of the mosquito’s larva. He told the participants
when a mosquito carrying dengue virus bites a person; the virus enters the skin
to gather with the mosquito’s saliva. It binds to and enters white blood cells,
virus production increased in a body and person experience low Blood Pressure.
After
the seminar Pamphlets were also distributed to the participants.
